Functional high level objects (such as projects, flows, forms, form responses, documents, users, operators, tablets) have a global unique identifier assigned to them by the Siteflow application when they are created.

These objects can then be retrieved individually by their identifiers. When an object is associated to another object, their identifiers are used to refer to them.
